Details: This design was created by Paulo-Guilherme (1932-2010) for a Portuguese Europa stamp in 1963. He was known as an architect, filmmaker, writer, painter, illustrator and designer.

The Europa postage stamp is an annual joint issue of stamps with a common theme by member countries of the European Communities. They aim to build awareness of the common roots, culture and history of Europe and its shared goals.
