The Very Spirit of Paris - Cusenier (1961)

Year: 1961

Format: Print Advert

Illustrator: Royston Cooper (1931-1985)

Client: Cusenier

Details: This 1961 advert for Cusenier was created by Royston Cooper (1931-1985).

Cooper was a British designer, artist, painter and typographer. He was commissioned by major companies in the UK and Europe, designing posters, prints, brochures, packaging and more.

I found a brief bio that his widow Marie Cooper gave to the Quad Royal blog, describing him as a jovial character who occupied a studio in Belsize Park, London for 23 years. This became a popular meeting place for clients and artists alike. He was also a balloonist, flying his own hot air balloon in races across Europe and the U.S.
