Details: British designer Abram Games (1914-1996) created a series of illustrations advertising the Financial Times in the early 1950s. This playing card features a seasonal variation of the design.

There are a number of playing card sets bearing different Christmas versions of the newspaper man character, which makes me think it must have become an annual production.
