Details: This beermat features an image created by Tom Eckersley (1914–1997). According to the V&A, this illustration was used on a poster in 1961.

Eckersley worked as a designer from the 1930s until the 1990s, during which time he designed for a wide range of clients including London Transport, Gillette and Worldwide Fund for Nature.

He also established the first undergraduate graphic design course in the UK at the London College of Printing, where he was Head of Graphic Design for 20 years.
