Hastings Conquest - Dean & Dawson (c.1950s)

Year: Undated (c.1950s)

Format: Leaflet

Illustrator: Uncredited

Client: Dean & Dawson

Details: This leaflet promotes Hastings as a holiday destination and advertises the services of Dean & Dawson travel agency. It is undated but looks c.1950s.

There were a couple of Hastings posters illustrated by Tom Eckersley and Bruce Angrave, produced by the S.H. Benson advertising agency. While the seahorse concept on the leaflet is reminiscent of that created by Tom Eckersley in 1952, the character design itself feels closer to the Bruce Angrave version created in 1948.

I wonder whether these leaflet illustrations could be by another illustrator but influenced by these previous marketing campaigns.
