Illustrator: Uncredited (possibly Charles R. Alvey (1927-2013) and Richard Simpson, unverified)

Client: Hotel Siam InterContinental

Details: This matchbook was printed by The Thai Match Co. and features branding for the Hotel Siam InterContinental. On the reverse side is a Pan Am logo. The hotel was one for the first international hotels in Bangkok, built by Pan Am in 1966, to cater to the luxury market.

Though the artwork is not credited, Charles R. Alvey (1927-2013) and Richard Simpson worked in the InterContinental Hotel Corporation's Department of Interior & Graphics Design from 1961 to 1990. They created all of the graphics used hotel advertising, internal promotion, luggage labels, uniforms and tableware, much of which is still in use today.
