It’s Quaker Oats Weather (c.1950s)

Year: Undated (c.1950s)

Format: Showcard

Illustrator: Uncredited

Client: Quaker Oats

Details: This showcard advertises Quaker Oats. It is undated but looks c.1950s. It is quite large at around 30 x 31cm - perfect for displaying in a shop alongside the product. It originally had a glass thermometer in the middle.

The Quaker Oats man is one of the earliest examples of company mascot, having been introduced in 1877.

The artwork is uncredited but bears a strong resemblance to the work of John Hanna (1919-1992).
