Details: This 1967 stamp design is by US designer Georg Olden (1920-1975).

Olden was the first African-American to design a postage stamp for the United States Postal Service, for a 1963 stamp commemorating the 100th anniversary of the emancipation proclamation.

He also worked as an executive in the art department at CBS television before becoming a VP-Senior Art Director at McCann Erickson advertising agency.
