Details: This leaflet advertising chicken was produced for Mac Fisheries, an early UK chain of fishmongers and poulterers.

The artwork is unsigned but many of the Mac Fisheries posters in the 1950s featured illustrations signed by 'Zero', the pseudonym of Hans Schleger (1898-1976). The brush artwork and lettering on this leaflet certainly share characteristics with Schleger's work for the brand.

Schleger pioneered corporate identity - in the 1950s, his studio Hans Schleger & Associates designed the Mac Fisheries logo, shop layout, colour scheme, advertising and packaging.
